Week 6 – A look back

Who would’ve known where Noah would be this far into his recovery, except of course, all of you who have continued to pray, send positive vibes and thoughts, and encourage Noah to pursue the great things he’s destined for.  You’ve carried us, when it was just too much to bear on our own, and now it’s but a blur as we look at how far Noah’s come.  He is all too eager to tell you himself about his personal victories this past week and the fun he’s been able to enjoy.  Of course, it came with hard work in his therapy sessions and didn’t hurt to keep asking. (He learned from a good family friend that you don’t know if you don’t ask – Thanks Greg!)

So what’s all the excitement about? INDEPENDENCE! This guy now gets to walk, not just wheel, around in his room, to the ‘bistro’, and to his classes all without us or a nurse.

During this week, he enjoyed an outing with Craig Hospital to DeKoevend Park, visits from family friends, Sean and Kim, as well as Jake, Oliver, and Mary Beth, and awesome visits home. Friday night was dinner and a movie at home; Saturday yard work (well okay some work was involved) and then a visit to Chick-Fil-A and huge greetings from the best crew ever! Then Sunday was a trip to the movies with best friends: Connor, Alexa, Brenna, John, Aidan, and Anders.

This weekend has been the greatest one since this whole experience. So much has happened and it just really showed me how important people are to me whether it be within my fantastic neighborhood or within the Aspen Grove Chick-Fil-A community – both of which I spent  a good amount of time in this weekend. I got to see several neighbors and the fact that the news of the accident brought some to tears just brought me many unexplainable feelings I’ve never had before.

And then there was a visit to my second home over at Chick-Fil-A, I walked in and received the warmest welcome from everyone working  – I’ll never forget it! All of the memories from there came flooding back and I felt like I wasn’t even a hospital patient anymore. With all the great memories I’ve made, my return will be full of excitement to join marching band and go back to work!

Then on top of all that excitement, I got the opportunity to see a very special movie with many of my friends. and that movie, which Connor, John, and I have anticipated for three years was Avengers: Infinity War.
